I bought this welder and I have been using it at work for tig it has been great. No issues for the price highly recommended also very great quality

I'm not a professional or certified welder but I can tell you, this little thing is a game changer for my garage and my DIY projects. It function like it should, never overheat and perform amazing. With a tank of shielding gas, a few welding rods, a tungsten or two and some PPE, you are ready to roll. If you are looking for a small affordable welder for DIY projects and more, this is the one. I recommend 100%

I’m pretty blown away by this little rig. I got it for a few little exhaust fabrication projects on my rally bikes. I really didn’t even shop around or read reviews I just pulled the trigger on one and it was here in just a few days.First off: the quality of the machine is pretty impressive. I didn’t expect the fit and finish to be as good as it was. I’m also impressed by the fact that it has post flow settings and an automatic gas flow on/offWhat surprised me even more is that this isn’t a strike start welder, it’s not a lift start welder, it’s a high frequency start welder. I thought that feature was reserved for high end machines, yet here it is on a $197 Chinese welder. It’s a super nice feature which allows you to keep your tungsten much cleaner than with strike start.I made two modifications to this machine:1) the 3/32 tungsten holder was more like 1/16, so my fresh 3/32nd tungsten (not included) didn’t fit. I had to grab my 3/32 drill bit and drill it out, not a big deal2) I moved the high frequency start button to a more ergonomic position for my style of welding. That’s not the fault of the machine, just my preference.Overall this is a great machine if you want to learn how to tig weld, or if you have a few projects you need to knock out. I’m very happy so far and will update this review if anything changes.Note: tungsten, argon, regulator, and welding helmet not included. You will need to plan to get an argon tank which is anywhere from $80-180 for a hobbyist plus a fill.Enjoy!Update: it’s been at least 6 months now and the welder is still going strong for my occasional projects. I really cannot think of anything negative to say about this little rig, it has been flawless.

Bought for a portable welder . Easy to use, it lighter weight faster to deploy then the buzz boxes in the garage. Had to olay with the settings as im stick welding on 120. But functions as advertised . Id say its a quality item for the price.

Overall it works, the only feedback here and is not documented anywhere. The gas port is a push on nozzle, so I had to cut off the end of the gas gauge screw on fitting, heat up the tube and press it on. Not sure why they don't make a screw on. The pedal and torch trigger is off/on, not variable to control amps. But can't expect that for the price. The instructions are very poor. If you aren't familar with welding already, you may find it tough to follow along. There are very few youtube videos on this. The pros - It has a post gas dial for x seconds of gas flow. This is great. The price is amazing. It also does stick. For the price and doing small jobs with steel up to 16 gauge, up to 1/8 or 3/16 possibly (non structural) this is a great welder. Note: You will need to buy a bottle and fill it at your local gas welder supply. Plan on at least another $250 for the bottle, and $80 for it to be filled. So a bit of upfront cost.

Advertised as AC/DC tig welder that welds aluminum. Turns out this machine is DC tig ONLY. I thought maybe you just set it on the pulse option and it turns the machine over to an AC setting, tried it-all it did was make this god-awful noise and no matter what i did, it just burned ruts into the work piece. I have other AC tig machines, i know how they sound on AC mode, and i know how to make a decent weld with them, so it’s not because I’m inexperienced, this machine just doesn’t do what it is advertised to do. It’s not a bad little DC tig machine, but it just doesn’t weld Aluminum or any other non-ferrous metals. The only thing i am not impressed with is the HF start. My other machines HF start almost immediately into a nice arc, this machine struggles to do that. You have to hold the trigger in while moving up and down the work piece a couple inches to get the arc to ignite, and once you have it, you have to quickly move the torch back to your starting position. I thought it was maybe a bad ground, but no matter what adjustments i made, it still seemed to struggle with starting that arc. Frustrating. Also, it didn’t come with any gas hose and was also missing the tig torch!!! Luckily i had a torch laying around that was compatible, so i hooked that up to try this thing out. This machine gets a bug thumbs down from me. It’s unfortunate, because i own other S7 products and i have always been impressed with them as a good bang for the buck machine. Not this one. Bad experience all around. Maybe spend a few extra dollars and get another tig machine if you want to weld Aluminum. This one simply won’t do it. Even on single pulse, the results are horrifying. PS-a good quality welder for cheap that I’ve found- the HITBOX HBT250P AC/DC. I got this machine for about $300 (normally $449.99) it frequently goes on sale and Amazon offered me a $150 coupon toward it. Check that one out. It works like a champ, and the optional foot pedal can be attained for less than $40, although not necessary to tig with. If you’re a beginner, don’t use the foot pedal until you’re comfortable welding without it. It just adds complexity to an already complex weld. Baby steps. Hope this helps! Happy Tiggin’!
