Had some challenges but was able to work through them with community support
I'm rating this as a 5 as it works well, but will caution that your initial setup could be challenging if you want to use the I/O for detecting it the door is open or closed, or if you want to do any other functions. The support community and online documentation are fair to help you resolve any issues you may have. I ended up figuring out how to get this work the way I wanted but it took some trial and error to get it right. I integrated the two units I purchased with Home Assistant and they work well. I did need to use ESPHome Builder to modify these to work for my use case.

Very easy to setup and integrate
I was really surprised at how easy this was to get ready and hookup to my LiiftMaster 87504R-267 MyQ garage door opener, only two wires plus the power supply! I previously had the white version of this with my old garage door opener and that was much more work to get setup, of course I bought it right when it first became available so a very early version of the firmware. I installed the BlaQ within about 15 minutes of receiving it and everything just worked right away no open/close sensor to calibrate like on the white since this one reads the state right from the opener.

If you're even hesitating, don't! Buy this unit now!
Wow - just wow. I'm rarely impressed by consumer smart home products, mostly because they feel like they're barely engineered Chinese junk just trying to get to market fast. That's NOT the case here. This is quality all around.I have a myQ opener, integrated into my Control4 home automation system. It worked for a while, until Liftmaster because jerks and enshittified their platform, cutting off access to the API. You were chained to their app, or had to pay lots of annual fees to use their API. All of the sudden all my integrations quit working when they became a**holes.Enter the Konnected blaQ! This little gizmo was the easiest thing I've probably ever installed. EVERYTHING was included! Wire. Screws. Power adapter. Safety Stickers. Well written instructions! It was trivial to plug in to the wall and get online, and their app makes it easy to build firmware and upgrade it. Once it's upgraded, unless you're changing the firmware for some reason, it has no need to go anywhere off your local network again. Set up is as simple as adding two wires (included) to the opener contacts, plugging the box in, and finding a way to attach it to the wall (hint: use the included screws!)The device has its own web page, and there are lots of great integrations with home automation systems including Control4 and HomeAssistant. Better yet, though? Its API is free, open, and documented. It's even RESTful. Want to do really wild stuff with this? You can - easily - on your own! This is what Liftmaster/Chamberlain SHOULD have been. But they're greedy. Konnected and the GDO blaQ solve the problem for far less than one year of API access would cost.If you don't have a Wifi-enabled garage door opener, but you do have Liftmaster/Chamberlain, this device connects it for far less money than the OEM solution and on top of it, does a better job!

Update firmware, then sync to opener, then it's great
I'm using these with Home Assistant and this imported to ESPHome effortlessly. I have two LiftMasters with the purple learn button. One of the doors has the 78LM wall panel, the other has the 888LM. I had massive conflict problems with the 888LM until after the blaq was firmware updated AND manually selected the "security+1.0 with smart panel" as the Security+ protocol. And it took a lot of fiddling around with the device, searching the internet, fiddling some more, more searching, and a last bit o' fiddling before it finally worked. For anyone else who experiences issues installing the blaq with an 888LM (door opening randomly; wall panel beeping way to much with blinking lights and losing door control), here's the solution: Follow Konnected's instructions Step 1 Initial Setup. Before going on to step 2, UPDATE The Firmware. I used Konnected's app to do this, although you should be able to use ESPHome as well. The app was faster though. Then go through step 2, Platform Setup. Then do step 3, Physical Setup. If you do everything in this order, the blaq should detect the appropriate security protocol. If it doesn't, go to the blaq's IP address (on your local network), scroll down to "Security+ protocol", and select "security+1.0 with smart panel".

Users with older Security+ 1.0 protocol openers take note
Installation for this device went well. Instructions were clear and the process was simple. Updated device with latest ESPHome firmware (1.2.4) for use with Home Assistant and connected it to my purple button Chamberlain opener with no issues. Everything seemed to go smoothly and I was extremely pleased. At least till I woke up the next morning to find my garage door open. It opened on its own at 2:32A with no commands logged to do so. I closed it and wrote it off as a fluke, but it opened again around 11A. Over the course of the day it opened several more times until I finally unplugged the power. Researching the issue on the Konnected community forums showed this as a known problem on older Security+ 1.0 openers. There was indication that they were working on firmware to fix this issue and a reporting issue, but until that is released and available to the public, my device is a very expensive brick taped to the side of my opener. If you have a purple button or square yellow button Chamberlain opener, hold off and research before purchasing. I will be updating this review as time goes on, reducing stars the longer it goes unresolved and adding stars along with update if it is resolved.Edit: After several versions of attempts, they have finally solved the issue that was causing random openings with the release of firmware revision 1.3.1.I have adjusted my rating to five stars. The team at konnected worked hard to get this resolved.

I so wanted it to work
I followed directions and it would not connect, spent a few hours trying. The tech guy was great, but we couldn't get the issue resolved. It got to the point where it wouldn't appear in my WIFI setup.
