Do not buy the pink version
High contrast is an element that's important for working efficiently on your computer while not straining to see. The best contrast on your keyboard is a black background on the keys, with white characters, or arguably, vice-versa. With high contrast, we easily see the keys we need and can work painlessly.I bought this computer in the pink color as that was the only one available for next-day shipping. I'd never owned a computer in anything but black/white/gray, so it didn't even occur to me that the contrast could be a problem with this model. Surely you can trust the computer companies to take care of things like this, right? It's such a simple thing, and so easy and cheap to take care of. Make the characters darker, or the keys lighter, or to be sure, do both!Wrong. This pink nightmare is as low-contrast as you get. Mauve keys are matched with gray letters, numbers, and symbols. When you sit up straight to type, the right side of the keyboard virtually vanishes. It's almost impossible to type when the keys seem blank. If you stick your face right above the keys, and sit hunched over, it's fine - you can see all the keys. That's not a good way to type! After chatting at length with hp, it came down to it's my problem and I'll have to buy a new skin for the keyboard. Anyone with one brain cell would be able to see the problems with this keyboard, but instead of fixing it, they shove the problem off onto consumers who were foolish enough to buy an HP product. Great customer service, HP!I bought this computer as a temporary laptop to use as my other computer is dying. I need something to use while I research what to get for my next, more powerful, computer. HP could have gained a new, loyal customer. Instead they've lost me for life over a cheap, poorly-designed laptop.I was going to leave all my typos in so you could see how hard it is to type blind. But I figured Amazon wouldn't publish something almost unreadable. Please don't buy this computer. Bye-bye HP.

Decent for the Price
It is decent for the price and it was supposed to be new. The speed is no issue. The size and the screen is ok for the price point I chose. It was easy to set up. It runs on all the up to date programs. It does sometimes turn off for no reason or be hard to turn on, so much so that I be thinking it's going to die and not come back on (but this I think is an HP issue not the seller). It came with a free year of Microsoft Suite which is a huge selling point. However, I have learned a lot over the last week ab buying products like this on Amazon. So if I have to buy another laptop from Amazon. I would buy the Amazon renewed premium since it has a 1yr warranty and comes with a check list of what was tested, battery life, etc.

Good reliable laptop, not much storage
Functional laptop, not much storage, great for a few years at college. I’m able to get through a whole day of classes and homework in 1 charge. Screen quality is just like any other computer you use. Super easy to setup.

Reliable, sleek, and ready for productivity
This HP laptop is a fantastic choice for everyday computing. It boots up quickly, runs smoothly, and is ideal for work, school, or casual use. The design is slim and modern, making it easy to carry around whether you're at home, in the office, or on the go.One of the best perks is the included 1-year subscription to Microsoft 365, which gives you access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more—perfect for students and professionals alike. The display is bright and crisp, and the keyboard is comfortable for extended typing sessions.Battery life is solid, performance is dependable, and HP’s build quality feels durable. Overall, this is a well-balanced laptop that offers excellent value—especially with the Microsoft 365 bonus included.

Almost returned these, but...
Bought two of these for my office. At first, they were ok, but within a couple of weeks they became VERY slow and would crash if you had more than one software application running. They were basically unusable. Unfortunately, we had spent a lot of time installing software on them so I really didn't want to return them if I could help it. I decided to try an upgrade to the memory before I sent them back. I ordered actual HP branded 32 GB DDR4 So-DIMM memory sticks and sure enough they now are working just fine. The laptops are "upgraded" when you buy them to 16GB using "ADATA" branded memory and of course that memory's warranty is void if you remove it. So I'm out the cost of the new memory but at least I have functional computers. Also, the HD is only 64 GB and is already full. If you plan on using this for online only these are probably fine, but if you want to install anything, spend a little more money and get a machine with better memory and a bigger HD.I rated this a 3, the computer is a decent computer, but the upgraded memory for me was a big miss.
