affordable dumbells, quick exercise at home
iSolid Dumbbells With Round Plates – Great for Strength TrainingThese round plate dumbbells are just what I was looking for. The weights are solid and feel balanced in the hand. The bar has a good grip, and the spin-lock collars keep the plates tight during workouts.Changing the weight is easy, so I can switch quickly between exercises. The round plates make it simple to roll them out of the way when I’m done, which is actually useful in small spaces.Great for home workouts, especially if you're building a small gym setup. Quality feels strong and durable. Definitely worth the price.

Good for the price, and does the job
Perfectly good to use weights at a good price. The weights are filled with sand, they're not solid, but the weight is there all the same so it doesn't really matter. The only downside is they are quite large for their mass because of this. The bar is textured and easy to grip with your hands however I would recommend getting some gloves as it does hurt your skin after using for a while. It is easy to assemble and change weights, however, my only real complaint is the screw cap method to keep the weights on. As you use them, the caps will slowly wriggle loose, so you end up having to keep retightening them.

Great quality - with a budget price tag!
You know, if money and space was not an issue, I would purchase myself a full set of individual hexagon dumbbells (the ones made from cast iron and rubber-coated). However, such a complete set would run into many hundreds of pounds. In contrast, this pair of plastic-coated ‘concrete’ dumbbells are a brilliant alternative - and they’ve really impressed me with their quality. You can purchase them in configurations of 15Kg, 20Kg, 25Kg or 30kg (those are the TOTAL weights of each PAIR - so a 15Kg set gives you a max of 2x 7.5Kg dumbbells). I opted for the 30Kg set, and this is the weight I would advise because you can make up dumbbells that are light enough to do the easier exercises like shoulder flys, bicep curls, and tricep skull crushers, or pack on the heavier weights and hit the chest, back, quads and hamstrings.During my workouts with these dumbbells, I found that it was easy to slide the discs on and off and the spinlocks kept the weights firmly in position. In addition, the textured surface of the plastic-coated handles offers an excellent grip. Out of interest, I accurately weighed each disc and found that they were just slightly under the stated weight - though not enough to worry about, in that regard it’s always good practice to alternate your dumbbells (left to right/right to left) after each set so that you can be assured each body part is equally exercised (my free tip to you!). Helpfully, each disc is marked up with the appropriate kilo weight on one side, and the equivalent pound weight on the other (for you old school types). Overall, I can’t really fault these dumbbells - which is why I have no hesitation in recommending them. 👍

Make sure it will fit your weight rack with other weights.
My honest review of these weights is that they are quite bulky. I have immense difficulty putting them anywhere but at the bottom of a weight rack, and I can't have anything directly above it, so it is effectively using 2 slots. What I would say though is the ability to adjust the weight distribution to your liking is a really intuitive and practical idea. Just the size is what really brings it down for me. The price is what brought me to them as for the amount of weight, it was a no brainer, just disappointing that it limits the rest of my space.

Bulky and rattle but still worth the price
They're very basic but get the job done and overall worth it for the price. Few cons: they're quite big making some lifts and storage difficult. The plates also tend to rattle and come loose if doing anything other than basic movements.

A kg of plaster weighs as much as a kg of iron
The media could not be loaded. Really, £27.05 for 30kg of weights? Yes indeed and whilst they are obviously not cast metal, weight is exactly that, a weight. 2 short bars and a range of weights from 2.5k down to 1 kg. The max I can get on a bar is 18kg, not huge but I am more than satisfied using this weight for an easy bench press, doing light curls with 10kg on the bar and a range of other exercises to suit my age and frame to keep me strong and fit. There is more than enough weight to defeat me on a side lateral raise and I dare say, just about everyone else.30kg is not a lot of weight for many, but these are easy to store, easy to assemble, the bars have a decent grip and simply put, they work. They are definitely for home use only, but for me they are ideal when I just want a 30 minute work out in the garage. Where they do lose out is they are quite bulky compared to metal, but for the money.......?Great value for money. Ideal for those who just need something to keep at home.
