Great for maintaining a constant bbq temperature
I bought this as I was having trouble maintaining temperature on my aldi mini kamado with just the vents. It comes well packaged and with a good quality carry case.I was worried about the adapters fitting my kamado due to its size. I used the smaller one with the matching tab on to fit the vent opening. It was a little too tight so I had to prize one edge of the vent slider wider so the tab would fit in. This worked well for me so may work for other mini kamados too.The unit itself is pretty basic and all functions are controlled by the app which is very easy to use. I noticed that the fan kicks in slowly and increases speed as the temperature drops which stops the temperature increasing rapidly. After setting up, I had a small brisket on the kamado and wanted to keep the temperature at 135°c for smoking. The cook took around 4 hours. The temperature stayed between 130°c -143°c throughout the entire cook. I'm very impressed with that as the temperatures in a mini kamado can fluctuate rapidly.I really can't fault this temperature controller, it just works and its very efficient at what it does the app is very goodI am very happy with my purchase, and I wish I had got one of these sooner as I've just made the best brisket I've ever had. For the price, it's worth every penny.

Highly recommended
This is a very well packaged item with various adapters to allow it to be used with different types of smokers and barbecues. It does need a power source but a battery pack will do if you don't have a plug where you need it. Using it, provides accurate temperature control over a sustained period and allows great fuel efficiency over a long slow smoke. Cannot fault how it operates and all the parts and carry case have a really premium feel. Easy to connect to the app and works over wifi. Top marks to inkbird on this product. They even sent me a free replacement when there was a malfunction with the fan after about 6 months

Ace piece of kit!
Been after something like this for a while, Inkbird was a decent price so took a chance. Works brilliantly, connects to my WiFi extender by my Kamado Joe which is running 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands and despite some reviews suggesting temperamental WiFi or only connecting to just 2.4GHz, I've had no issues and it's connected automatically without fail. Done a couple of slow and low cooks so far and it's kept the internal temp rock solid for all cooks. App is really to use and great temp tracking graphs of all four probs over long cooks. Only one thing I'd say is missing in the app is some form of "ETA" of the meat reaching temperature but other than that, very happy with it so far! Would recommend!

Makes temperature control a doddle!
I have done a couple of cooks now and cannot fault it.The unit comes in a really smart soft case with foam cut-out spaces and sleeves to store the unit, probes and vent adaptors safely. The trickiest part (for me) was fitting the adaptor to my Louisiana Kamado. For those who have this Kamado, use the big adaptor vertical and slide it in from the left. (It is tight) I also bent the slider tab to 90 degrees to ensure I have a good seal with miniscule gap.If you've used other inkbird products you'll find the app pretty straight forward but I would recommend you play around with the unit plugged in and having a play first.I had no issues connecting the unit to my wifi and the connection remains solid and I have not had any drop of connection. (I use a Netgear mesh system to have wifi across my whole garden)The fan kicks in when you drop below your set temp and will start slowly gradually increasing to boost the airflow over the coals and will shut down when the set temp is reached again. I have not had the fan go over 50% and that was at the end of a 12 hour pulled pork cook and the charcoal was getting a bit less but worked great!Great product that I have happily recommended to friends and I am very happy with my purchase.

A little bit of room for improvement but functionally this is great!
Having been considering a fan controller for a little while I saw this at a great price and had to pick it up. Already owning a few Inkbird products I was expecting good things but I am particularly impressed with this despite a few small limitations. The WiFi connectivity is a little bit of a faff and only works on 2.4GHz frequency, I could change this on my router but perhaps with other routers or without the know how this could potentially cause some people some issues. I also got the WiFi set up and working inside, then went and tested it outside by my bbq and it worked however when I then went to light the BBQ, it would not connect - this wasn’t too big of an issue for me as I just used the manual controls on the unit which was easy enough and I have a meater probe which alerts me if there are any issues. The unit itself can also be a bit clumsy, in the end I just lay it flat on my worktop but it would be good if there was some sort of hook or clamp or some other way of mounting it.The only other thing which would make this much better for me is if it were weather proof. With the negatives/room for improvement out of the way I would like to say that I was seriously impressed with the performance of this. As shown on the meater graph, I set the temp to 100 overnight and it held very well, then ramped up the temp a bit during the stall and it didn’t overshoot at all.All in all I would definitely recommend this, especially if you struggle with confidence doing overnight cooks and don’t want to get up in the early hours to get things lit and then stress towards the end of the day when things aren’t ready.
