Affordable reliable 11x17 color
This printer delivers! I need 11x17 capabilities, and there are just not that many machines out there. It's a quick printer, and the quality is great. This is not a flimsy all-in-one style machine - it's almost commercial grade, hefty, fullsize. Mindful it has a nice scanner, up to fullsize 11x17, posters, very nice. Ink tank technology finally gets ink costs per page down to near the cost of toner. But the scanning paper handling is intentionally not the same as an all-in-one, or a dedicated scanner. I don't need it, and clearly this keeps this unit affordable.

Get it, but's check the size. It's probably bigger than the printer you're replacing
The Brother MFC-J6555DW was much bigger than I expected. It's simple to set up and configure. I plugged it in, put in my network password and it was immediately connected and worked well with my multiple Mac computers. I needed to replace an aging printer for my home office and this has worked well. It prints very fast for standard docs. I use it to proof size and color of assets going to be professionally printed. It seems color accurate or close enough. If I was printing professionally I would have a more expensive printer. It's been better than my previous printer that lasted for 6 years (prints faster, handles more paper types). I even tested photos on glossy photo paper. They turned out well and it's great if you don't have time to send things out to be printed professionally. The ink cartridges are huge. Like 3 or 4 times the size of standard inkjet cartridges. So I when it comes time to replace ink, I will pay 1/2 as much for 3 or 4 times the amount of ink. This printer seems like it will be a good value for my small business. I would recommend for small or home office use with moderate printing needs.

No way there is 1 year of ink in the printer
This is my first negative review!I replaced my MFC-J5830DW that I bought November 2018. I printer about 37,000 pages and could count in my hands paper the jams. Excellent printer.Replaced it with the new model MFC-J6555DW, its fast, prints great even at NORMAL setting. And in high resolution with photographic paper prints stunning large and small photos.I have had my new printer almost a month and printed 966 pages. One of my jobs in printing the church bulletin for my small church.Well I am not a happy camper with respect to the "1 year of ink...." So far after 966 pages in about 3 weeks the ink estimates are M-350, C-350, Y-430, and B-1000. They also say that you have STARTER ink cartridges, that is like selling me a dozen eggs and saying this box only contains 7 eggs. The advertisement should have said "1 year of ink, WHEN YOU BUY THE XL CARTRIDGES, which cost $250 which is more than 50% of the original printer cost". Welcome to our new cash cow.Now to my first test for printing business cards. Used my old trusty Avery card stock. Need to print 10 pages, for 100 cards. So I put the 10 pages in the rear tray and it printed the first 6 pages just fine, but the last four jammed until I just put a single sheet on the rear tray and it fed and printed correctly, one at the time. And the Avery box was brand new and in great shape. And Amazon AI for orders is off the deep end. I was looking for Brother LC406 cartridges and down at the bottom of my search it says "You might me interested in this....." so it shows me the ink cartridges for an HP pinter. It also intermixed LC404 in the search results.By the way, I found the 4 LC406 cartridges at Staples for a reasonable price, they will be here tomorrow. With my old printer and previous ones I purchased from LD Products at a very reasonable price and never had a problem with he ink on my printers. Now I find these sites that sell Brother replacement ink, for this printer they say "COMING SOON"I cant afford $100 a month for ink!

It's meant for an office
It's huge! Definitely meant for an office/work setting but I'm using it for sticker/vinyl projects. I think my ink cartridge cover is broken though, but it still works so I'm not complaining! No cords required to connect either meaning you don't have to have it right by your computer. The set up on the computer is a little janky, so probably just use it with your phone.
