I've got a bank of recessed lighting, six in total, in my kitchen that was rarely used for their intended purpose because it was more glaring than it was pleasant, leaving the impression I was carrying out a surgical procedure on the island instead of preparing a meal. Inevitably, other people in the house don't necessarily feel the same way the cook does about these lights, and they turn them on, many times while I am cooking, and then leave them on. I've been so tempted over the years to just disconnect the switch in the interest of preserving the peace.These Sylvania light bulbs have changed this situation dramatically. They dim. They have a range of programmable colors. All of which help with the glaring aspect of this bank of lighting. They work with Alexa without a hub, so instead of turning on all six lights at once, I can turn them on one at a time if I want, though I have them set up in groups of two that can have different settings for just the right kind of lighting for the moment. They have breathed usefulness into lighting that has been sitting around for decades with virtually no practical purpose. And a big bonus of working with Alexa is that I don't have to go down stairs in the middle of the night to turn them off when someone leaves them on. Alexa's hunches work wonders in this area.Set up was really easy, though if you are working on more than a couple of lights, I suggest setting them up one at a time. I did six at once, and it got a little confusing in the app as to which bulb was which. It took about 30 minutes to set up all six of the lights just the way I wanted them, which includes grouping them up in the Alexa app for voice control.One other suggestion I have is to check the specifications on your WiFi router to be sure you're not going to over-burden it with more devices than it can practically handle before you buy. If you have too many devices for the router, set up and general day-to-day operation may not go as smoothly as you'd like, and it may also impact the quality of service for all devices connected to it.The reason I gave these bulbs 4 stars instead of 5 is that the range of colors programmable with the app is wide, but I still can't get the color I'd like to have which is somewhere around a pinkish daylight. There is definitely pink on these, but no blending ability, so the pink is a party pink with no possibility of blending it with white.

When you renovate your home, you inevitably go with pot lights all over the place, and you will need bulbs. Lots of them. These tend to be some of the cheaper options out there, not to mention the ones with most bulbs per package. They are good quality and always seem to work, though contrary to what I've been told about led lights, they don't last forever (see YouTube videos on led bulb repair; a circuit breaks, just like on Xmas lights). Still these last as long as any I've seen and they have a nice slim design that's easy to handle when swapping them in. Recommended.
