The coffee it makes isn't worth the wait on it's standard stove
I'm a big fan of stove top mocha coffee and percolator coffee in general, so when I saw this device intended for outdoor use, I couldn't resist. I tried it with the recommended setup using the provided stove and Esbit tablets and set it up indoors - no wind and quite warm. What seemed like years later, it started to deliver the coffee. It tasted ok but certainly not great and definitely not worth the wait. To speed things up I tried using a meths burner instead of Esbit tabs (which I don't like anyway) keeping the pot in the supplied stove. It still took ages. Finally I tried using my MSR Pocket Rocket and a propane canister...I was really able to turn the heat up and the coffee was spurting into the cup within a few minutes...much better i thought. Unfortunately, the pot isn't very stable when balanced on the pocket rockets arms and when the final high pressure blast came out of the spout it was enough to topple blew the whole pot. Clearly this setup isn't compatible with the pot which is unstable unless held firmly in its own stove. After much fiddling and faffing I just gave up. Had it a day and decided if I can't get a quick and decent cup of coffee at home then I definitely wouldn't want to carry this relatively heavy pot out into the wilds. I may go back to it if I can find a canister stove that can support the pot...that's the only way I can see getting a fast cup of coffee out of this thing.

Makes a great cup of java but not multi-stove compatible
Making coffee in the morning at camp is a ritual for me. I use a larger percolator pot when camping with the wife, but when solo I want less bulk and volume. This little maker fits the bill. It makes a tasty brew and holds exactly 8oz of water - beverage output is slightly less than that. It works as advertised as a stove/maker combo using the tablets...however, if you plan to use this with multiple stoves like I did, you will have some issues - the only reason for me not giving 5 stars. The maker's base is a multi-tiered ring (2" dia flat bottom) that is usually too small to securely fit most canister and even alcohol stoves by itself. This is not important if you plan to only use the provided tablet stove. I simply fabricated an adapter plate using a 3"x3" piece of .050" aluminum with the corners removed and a 2.25" dia hole in the middle to interface with the second tiered circle of the maker's base. This made it fit my alcohol stove nicely and works/packs easily with my stove. Canister stoves will require a mesh or grid over their supports to keep the maker's bottom far enough away from the flame head..and will still be "wobbly". Both issues are easily overcome if you want the flexibility, and the output is good enough for the extra work involved. I had no fit or quality issues with the unit I have and found the SS construction to be durable. Good little solo maker and works as advertised with supplied stove.
