Fun Digital Sesame Street

My younger siblings grew up with this small movie. I decided to find it for my own littles so they can have a few fun, but educational movies to watch. I don’t enjoy it very much myself (because there’s only so many times you can watch your kids’ favorite movies without them becoming meaningless in terms of entertainment 😅), but my youngest loves watching it while she gets her hair done everyday and doesn’t make a fuss. It’s been a huge favorite for her. Even my nonverbal autistic little boy enjoys stopping to watch the musical parts of the show before finding a new game which is a big deal for him. I would recommend this or other Sesame Street movies/shows. They are a great show that’s super kid friendly. As a digital copy, I also don’t have to stress about it wearing out or getting lost. I love how easy it is to play it on my iPad or tv.

Just what I was looking for!

My kids loved this DVD when they were little, so I decided to purchase the same one for my new grandson.

Socrates & Plato, Virgil & Dante, Big Bird & Baby Bear

Did you have to learn Microsoft Excel for your job? How about German in high school? Ever try to memorize poems? Not easy, are they? Think about these things and then ponder the challenge of having to learn not these skills, but the basic underlying tool that enables you to learn any of them, or most anything else - the alphabet. The cornerstone of all our transmitted knowledge, we expect our two and three year olds to learn it without being able to read it or even comprehend its significance. That's why we should all be eternally thankful for Jim Henson, the Children's Television Workshop, and that sage of linguistic prowess Big Bird and his eager student Baby Bear.Like Virgil leading Dante through the existing cosmos, Big Bird guides the lost and forlorn Baby Bear around the obstacle of the Leonine Goldilocks and brings him safely to the blessed seat of knowledge itself, the comprehension of the English alphabet. Along their journey, Baby Bear also learns much wisdom that will come to his rescue when tested - imagination, visualization, association of ideas, and the ability of music to convey information that mere words alone cannot. It is truly a tale of grand adventure and spectacular achievement. More than even that, it's cute. All kidding aside, at twenty-one months, our daughter has already worn out her "Do the Alphabet" VHS tape, so we sought out and purchased the DVD. That alone should tell you just how enjoyable this program is. We try to buy her programs that will be enjoyable as well as educational so she will grow with the idea that learning and enjoyment can and should go together. Bob the Builder, Veggie Tales, and the cornerstone of them all, Sesame Street are all part of her growing collection. In addition to being fun for her, they are enjoyable for Mama and Papa as well. While she laughs and dances to the music, my wife and I get a kick out of finding the many "Easter Eggs" in scenes, the hidden visual jokes in the background scenery or the humorous references in the dialogue (Baby Bear is a fountain of "wise fool" comments on everything from psychology to philosophy, as well as quite a master of the verbal riposte when necessary).Buy this DVD. Watch it with your toddler. Let her dance and sing, laugh and enjoy. What she is learning from it will stay with her longer than you know.

Absolutely Wonderful

My son loves this dvd. I bought it when he was 25-26 months and have played it just about everyday since (he's 30 months now). He learned his ABC's from it and dances to it. Like the others, he loves the individual segments, e.g., G ..., F faces and the jungle part. Before this purchase and over the last few months I purchased other DVD's but after their initial viewing, he wouldn't want to see them again. For example, I have baby einstein dvds, and several Elmo dvd's. I also have Ernie's Count-with-me (he'd watch this one occasionally). In my opinion, this ABC video is the best children's video out there. Before he could say his ABCs, I'd just point out the colors and we'd say them together. We'd also dance together. (Thus, there are different levels of learning involved and physical activity). Now, when I play it, sometimes he sits and watches the whole thing, singing and dancing along with it, other times he like to hear it playing in the background, so he can tune in to his favorite parts. This video is worth every penny. Just be prepared for continuous play, but it won't drive you crazy because the tunes are very catchy and fun.ps. After several months of continued requests for "baby bear" aka "SS Do the alphabet", I finally found a runner up, "kids" aka "Daddy Day Care"

Great DVD ... very catchy songs

My daugher (18 months old) LOVES this DVD. We've had it for about 2 months and she's already caught on to several of the songs, singing bits and pieces. She can say quite a bit of the alphabet already and she loves to shout out the next letter when Baby Bear is having a hard time. When I first got it, I was surprised at the amount of talking that goes on (especially at the beginning) and I was afraid that my daughter would lose interest before the music began. But she hasn't at all. A younger child might, however (but there is an option on the DVD that you can play the songs only if this is the case).A word of warning for adults - the songs are catchy! There are days where I can't get them out of my head. But the look of excitement that comes over my daughter's face when I ask her if she wants to watch this DVD makes it well worth it. And it is just so cute to hear her little toddler voice singing the ABC's.This DVD is also a good length - 35 to 40 minutes. Just enough time for me to get a little bit around the house done without feeling guilty about putting my child in front of the TV.
