Pros: The battery was well packed. Runs stronger and lasts longer than the original Makita NiCd battery. Quick and friendly response from Exmate customer service (Jessie).Cons: The 1st battery I received was bad (but Exmate quickly sent out a replacement).Doesn’t look and feel as nice as the original Makita battery (but works). NOT 100% compatible with the original Makita DC7100 charger.The 1st battery got very, very warm to the touch after about 30 minutes of being charged in the Makita DC7100 charger. Almost returned it, but decided to contact Exmate first. After a couple of emails, Exmate arranged to send me another battery ‘to test’ it out. A few days later, the 2nd battery arrived in the mail. The battery came pre-charged, holding a voltage around 7.42V (the 1st one was at 7.44V). I put it in my Makita 6019D drill, and worked it for a couple of days until it required a charge. I then charged it, and after 1 hour and 45 minutes, the battery started to get very, very warm (NOTE: the charger would normally stop charging after about 1 hour 5 minutes automatically with the original Makita NiCd battery in it). I didn’t stop there... I plugged in my portable fan to help cool down the battery, and it indeed kept the battery cool until it reached 3 hours total... then came a familiar pop from the charger which indicated that it had completed the charging cycle. However, the red indicator light remained on and didn’t turn off like always... Very odd. Anyway, I started the whole process again and again by working the drill until the battery required a charge, and charging it again (so far 4 times during the past 6 months)... and the results were pretty much the same as before.I held back my review to see if anyone else has the incompatibility issue with the DC7100 charger like I do, but I’ve seen none. Anyway one bad, one almost perfect, so the product should get 2.5 stars, but I’m giving five stars due to (1) the low price, (2) strong performance, and (3) the fact that Exmate truly cares about its customers, and stands behind its product. I’ll update this review if something comes up.

This has plenty of power. Grateful to have a battery that finally works longer that a couple of minutes.

The new item fits perfectly and functions as expected.

I brought into my office an old Makita drill to help finish a project. Unfortunately my battery was completely dead and would not take a charge. This battery took a charge and lasted long enough to finish the project. Maybe I should have asked my boss to pay for this battery. My drill is back in the garage waiting for the next project. I'm pretty sure this battery will be dead when I need it but it should take a charge.

I have to give a NEW review of EXmate (seller of battery). They read my comments. They contacted me and then sent a new battery(free). The new battery came charged and works in my drill. They did not want the old battery back! Will take it to the recycle bin. Exmate will take care of it's customers!!!!

Never took a charge. Never ran the drill.

The service is superb. Fast and accurate.

Battery works but it does not have the stated capacity. It is listed as a 3.5 amp hour capacity and it is actually a2.001ah capacity. Tested at .5 amp load down to 5.4 volts
