Where has this been all my life?!?!!?!?
I was a few days ago years old when I found out you could use this to convert a fountain pen to one that takes straight ink from wells instead of carts. Carts are convenient but more expensive and the quantity of ink is sparse.Enter this handy doodad! I got it for my new Bailey fountain pen and it worked great! I did have to fish out a cartridge they put in the pens body first, before it would fit. I wonder how many don’t realize there’s a free cartridge up in there? Some people have said there’s a spring in there instead, you have to pull out. Depends on your model…. But I can confirm it does work for the Bailey. It is a little messy, tho… I’ve not nailed my technique yet. I think I’ll use disposable gloves next time lolNow I think I’ll pick up converters for my pilot parallel calligraphy pens too.

Appropriate for the job I do. It helps me write beautifully. Appearance good. Great value for what I spent. I bought two.

Check your purchase immediately!
The first converter I received was unfortunately split along the area where the converter attaches into the section. Because I didn't need to use it right away, it was past the return period. I called Amazon and Cross about the issue and neither party offered a satisfactory solution.I ordered a second one which works perfectly. I don't know if the problem is quality control or not. But I will absolutely order it again when I need it.

Tried it out today
Ink just came in today, so first time I tried it out. Watched the video on how to fill it, that was helpful .Got ink on my fingers but that was expected. Don't know how long a fill will last . Used Parker Quink ink seems to work with it , no problems as of now. The bottle should last a long time. I am teaching myself how to write Cursive again, went so long not writing it, forgot how. My penmanship has always been bad, like real bad.

They leak like crazy
I ordered maybe 5 of these. I think only 1 or 2 has not leaked (and I mean wound up hemorrhaging ink all over the place when I least expect it). I hate to say it but I might have to go back to disposable cartridges.

Saves money on ink
Bought to use ink bottles instead of buying ink cartridges. The ink flow seems to consistent.
