A very fun and well designed game!
As many other reviewers have already stated, this game is very fun! It is one of the few board games claiming to have adventure that really lives up to it! The art, game design, and production quality are all top notch!I was worried I’d spend forever picking up the rules, but it’s actually a pretty quick learn. We were also pleasantly surprised at how relatively simple the game turns are (typically roll, move, do what a location tells you to), considering this game carries a good amount of depth. Our family collects/plays a ton of different board games, and this one easily places among our very favorites. While this is a 5th edition, we had never been aware of this game until now, and are glad we came across it!The only negative I can say about this game is that it plays a little long. We typically prefer games that are roughly 60-90 minutes max, and this one can go for several hours. That said, it’s such a great game, we don’t mind the length because we want the adventure to keep on going! This is perfect for rainy days or game nights with friends who don’t mind a longer game.We definitely recommend this game! 😊

New & Improved!
5th Edition? You betcha! I had not played this game for around 35 years. This latest version has nice plastic pieces for the characters you use. There is also an expansion that has cooperative play so you can choose to fight other players or team up. I got them both. A reasonable price for a very good game made this a surefire buy for me!

Fun RPG style game
Great game for friends or family can spend tons of time learning and then also going into the center of the game great value for the money not too difficult to learn.

Upgrade from the OG
I had the first version growing up. I have to say the new version is superior. The rules seem much more streamlined and playable. The art work is gorgeous as well as the figures. PVP aspects aren't as strong and the game feels a little less cutthroat and brutal. Altogether I think its a much better version of the game. I play with my 9 and 11 YOA and they love it too.

Wish there was a self destruct spell for my character
We play this in 2-player set up with a 10 yr old. He was able to pick up the rules and likes the game very much. Me, not so much.In a two player setting it is very easy to fall into a state in which one player effectively controls the game dynamics and can make a game last forever. There is no way to loose on purpose. It would be nice if there was a mechanism to kill your character or a limit of times they can respawnI feel the characters are not well balanced and there are some that are clearly better and after a few games it is easy to pick that up.Games can take anything between 30 minutes to multiple hours. It is not a casual game. The actual set is of nice quality. The figurines look very nice.I am giving it 4 stars in the hope that gameplay is better with more players. For two players is more like a three.

Awesome reinvention
I had the original from years ago. This new rendition stays true to the essence of the game while giving it a good reboot on the functionality and style of the characters!

The Classic Returns, All Anew!
This is the Classic Talisman game of yore that everyone loves! There are some changes in the edition, like only being a Toad for 1 round instead of 3, but that could be for the better. Getting toaded was the worst part of the game. We used to play this game all summer in my teen years, spending 3-4 days on a single game. Too bad we can't be like that anymore. The game has changed, for the better! Having just played a few games, there are some really neat changes regarding Toads, many spells are now different, and there's a new space on the opposite side of the Sentinel called the Cavern that transports you to different areas of the board. Now, the Crown of Command is protected by a Strength 10/Craft 10 Dragon you must fight before you get it.The minis are now very detailed and large, fitting into their own spaces in the box. There's new art for everything, and the artwork is gorgeous! They really upped their game (pun intended) on this release. A lot of thought and effort went into making this a great game like its earlier versions. To make it simpler, this game is like D&D, and Monopoly had a kid. Amazon did me a solid and delivered this weeks before anyone else gets their paws on it.I recommend this game for teens and above. It makes a great gift for Boardgame collectors!

A Fantastic Family Game!
We played Avalon Hill Talisman: The Magical Quest Board Game over Christmas with our teenagers, and it was a total hit! The game is full of adventure, strategy, and lots of laughs. Everyone enjoyed the unique characters, magical items, and the unpredictability of the quest. It’s easy to pick up, but there’s enough depth to keep it interesting for both teens and adults. We spent hours playing and had a blast with the twists and turns along the way. It’s a great way to spend quality time together—highly recommend it for any family looking for a fun and engaging game night!
