Size deceiving
the product was WAY smaller than anticipated and went to do a return and more than half the cost was going to be kept for return shipping, just took the jab and gave them away. I would say these are not rated for up to age 7 at all 4/5 MAX!!!!

Can’t get these tight enough on my skinny 5yo skater.
My daughter is a somewhat petite, skinny 5-yo and these pads are actually too big for her. You can see in the photo that the elbow pad is sliding down her arm despite crisscrossing the straps. If the Velcro pieces were longer I could make it work but for now these are only safe when she’s wearing them over a thicker sweatshirt or her coat while skating outside. It’s too hot to wear thick layers when she’s skating on the indoor ramps, so I think I may try cutting tube socks and slipping those onto her elbows for thickness under her pads. I can’t seem to find truly protective pads any smaller than these, unfortunately. She is skinny but not crazily so for a 5yo! She could actually wear the elbow pads on her knees...

Works really well for beginning skaters
I may or may not have realized that I forgot to teach my kids how to roller skate. Doesn't this stuff just come naturally? Anyways, took the kids to a local skating rink and to my horror, they looked as graceful as a baby giraffe learning how to walk. I've since invested in some skates as well as these pads. These have taken a great beating already, and they are holding up very well, and the kids are bump, bruise and scrape free.

durable and cute, but difficult to put on
Cute and durable and my daughter loves them. The biggest problem for me is that the straps don't go straight across - you have to loop them trough a plastic part to put them on. Doesn't seem like it would be a problem except that it means my girl can't get them on by herself - and even for me, putting them on is a little bit of a hassle. If the straps just went straight across, I'd give these a 10/10!

Sturdy and will protect from Road rash
Sturdy and will protect from Road rash. Hand and elbow pads are pretty big. My daughter is 4 and wears a size 4/5 in clothing. Others have complained of the labels. Honestly, they don't alter the function or safety, so it's a non issue for us.

Good enough.
I like that my kiddo is excited to put them on and likes the color. They’re not much more than just plastic. But, they will do the job. I was expecting a little more than just hard plastic (I’m not sure what) but it’s not like she’s hit the BMX circuit yet either. Bought these and a helmet separate.

Poor strap design
The Velcro straps have to be threaded thru a buckle and then looped back to Velcro together. Makes it difficult for child to do by himself. Makes getting them adjusted just right difficult. I’ll be sewing a modification. My husband threw away his knee pads away that had same poor design, makes it a hassle to put on quickly. Disappointing because it was grandson’s birthday gift that was rather frustrating.

Runs large, but good buy
Bought these for my 35-pound, 3 year old daughter. The elbow guards are way too big, but that's ok - she'll grow into them. The wrist guards are a little too big, but she can still wear them. The knee guards fit perfectly. Every time she's fallen, she's jumped right back up. Even though the stuff was too big, it protects her well and she'll keep it all until she gets bigger.
