Q: Are the bowls microwave-safe?

Hi Tori! I had to dump one out and read the bottom, it says "Hand Crafted Stoneware, Dishwasher and Microwave safe". And, by looking at it and feeling it, I would be comfortable putting in a microwave. Hope that helps!

Q: I understand that these bowls are made in China. Is there any verfication available tha the glaze in the ceramics is entirely free of leaching lead?

Clearly sellers are unaware of this level of detail, but this begs the question: Do you know the chemical composition of your pet bowls and the glazes? How do you know for certain that the information is accurate? Do you know the chemical composition of the the Walmart bowls and plates you eat from? Oh! Do you think that if you use Crate & Barrel or Williams Sonoma you get better products? Can you be certain? And the questioner should be just as or more concerned about the dishware that he or she is using. Regardless, no company will ever give a consumer full disclosure; and even if they seem to do so, only very few independent individuals could verify the findings.

Q: Is it possible to get 1 replacement bowl???

I doubt it, but not sure. However, the regular round Corelle ware bowls fit perfectly! I use those while the others are in the dishwasher. They come in all different colors, but I just use the plain white ones. You can get them from Amazon, or Target or Walmart. The outer edge of the bowl is 6 inches. The inside at the top is just about 5 inches diameter and it slopes downward to 3 inches at the bottom as it gets smaller at the bottom. Its a nice set but my puppy knocked it right off of the stand at 12 lbs.
