TC ElectronicVISCOUS VIBE Awesome Vibe Pedal for Recreating the Legendary "Shin-Ei Uni-Vibe" Sound with Built-In TonePrint Technology, Compatible with PC and Mac

Just a great univibe pedal. I love the tone and flexibility of different options of sound modulation too, but I use primarily for that 'Hendrix Vibe' - slow speed, high intensity swirl. Does it great. Really do love this pedal actually. I'm planning on getting a couple more TC electronic pedals too now, I wanna try their reverb pedal 'Hall of Fame'. Fantastic pedal.

Brilliant Univibe ......I recommend you put the distortion /boost after the viscous vibe in your pedal train to avoid excessive "throb", unless its a fuzz box for some reason I don't understand! Vibrato is excellent but better used on clean settings. A well made, sturdy pedal. The "ramp" feature (by holding your foot on the switch) is brilliant.

Solid metal case, well constructed. Use with pp3 battery or pedal PS. Good range of sounds and a stereo option if you have stereo guitar or input. The tone print feature is cool. Allows operational patches (changes the functions of the controls) to mimic some classic sounds (Hendrix, Trower etc). Works without computer. uses smart phone (android) app to send codes via sound through the guitar pickup right to the pedal. Does this in a Similar way to the old Spectrum tape loading of software. Nice. I believe it works with iphone as well. Sounds even better in line with overdrive/distortion pedal following on from the Vibe. Provided with mini USB port for computer connection and for custom tone-print creation from templates using phone app. Nice if they had supplied the to-go cable to connect to phone as well. Just have to buy one.

This is a great pedal, I'm really pleased with it.

1. The Uni-vibe sounds great to my ears. I'm sure if you spend a tonne you can find a more authentic analogue re-make of the original, but the difference will be very slight.2. The versatility with the Toneprint editor is phenomenal. I have set up my tone print to be a lush Tri-chorus, blending to a phaser, with the turn of a knob... both of which also sound superb. This isn't the pedal's primary purpose, but it means that I have 3 modulation pedals on my board in one small foot print.Brilliant!

First of all, unlike others, I DON'T find the Viscous Vibe to be overtly digital. It does however have its pros and cons.Pros:Quiet operation.Rich deep effects are available compared to say the MXR UniVibe.Programmable Tone Print to set up a 3rd effect that is all your own.It is Stereo.A "speed ramp" effect that is engaged by holding and releasing the foot switch.Through TonePrint editing it can get a LOT closer to sounding like a Leslie than an analog UniVibeGood Price pointCons:No user manual in the box, not even a slip of paper.When disengaging the effect with the footswitch the Viscous Vibe stays ON for about 3 seconds and produces a noticeable audio change when it does finally disengage - changing the internal "True Bypass" switch has NO EFFECT on this issue and therefore raised questions for me about how "true" the TC bypass actually was! However, when running the Vv from a power supply rather than a battety - disconection of power produces a physical "click" from inside the case - suggesting a relay - which does support the direct bypass claim.Editing the tone print and storing it has some issues (some parameters won't store)Overall it's hard to say that I would rather spend more money to get something else given the outrageous price of the better sounding Analog Vibes. For it's price it is a good unit. It delivers a good Hendrix and a good Gilmour sound and that aught to be enough. Besides, there is always a chance of a firmware fix with digital effects

Seemed to sound really digital and did not fit well with my all analog setup. I had high hopes, and really wanted it to work, but it just did not. Shall be going to an analog vibe pedal.
