Excellent Product. Would highly recommend this device.
I bought this adapter as so many new laptops/notesbooks/chromebooks do not come with an ethernet port any more.I would highly recommend this adapter for two reasons.1. The speed through an ethernet port is much faster than wifi. (I've tested the speed on my laptop and the wired connection was 15 times faster than the wifi connection)2. Safety. Whilst Wifi is great, it does leave you more exposed and vulnerable online. I prefer using a wired connection when doing online banking or purchasing anything online.Note: There are several different versions on offer but I would highly recommend the USB 3.0 adapter if your laptop is relatively new as this is capable of much faster speeds. The USB 2.0 adapter is ideal for older machines or devices like the Nintendo Wii U but produces a slower overall speed. The device itself is well made and very light (extremely portable). I had a friend who went and bought one himself after he saw how much better the wired connection was to home wifi. It's incredibly easy to use and setup. Basically plug in the usb connection to the laptop and place the rj5 ethernet cable into the device and the other end to your router. And that's it, you're good to go. If you do encounter any problems, you can troubleshoot or check online but it's usually very easy and problem free to setup.I would highly recommend running a download speed test and getting an average. With my wifi, the speed varied depending on the location of my laptop but the wired connection was very consistent andmuch higher. I have heard that a longer ethernet cable between the device and your router can reduce the speed but for most people a small 1-2m cable will be very consistent and shouldn't have much fluctuation.Great servie from Ugreen too and I will definitely be purchasing more computer accessories from them in future.

Easy to use network adapter which works with Nintendo Switch
I bought this item for two purposes: to use with my laptop on the odd occasion where I need a wired network connection, and also to provide a stable Ethernet connection for my Nintendo Switch. I'm pleased to say it satisfies on both counts, and is well-priced when compared to the official offering from Nintendo, and other similar adapters. The item was nicely packaged in an easy-to-open box, containing the adapter itself, a mini-CD containing drivers, and an instruction leaflet. Mac users need to download the driver from the manufacturer's website (searching the Downloads area by product number was the easiest way as they have a lot of similar devices). Once the driver was installed and my Mac rebooted, the adapter worked perfectly. When connected to the Nintendo Switch, the cable is long enough to allow you to use the rear USB port and close the flap with the main body of the adapter outside on the right. Once connected to your router via Ethernet cable, you just need to go into the Switch's network settings and select the wired connection. I didn't even need to reboot the console. Once you see the wi-fi icon change to a wired icon you know you've been successful.I understand (but haven't tested) that this will also work with the Wii U. I'll confirm later and will update the review.Edit: This adapter doesn't work with the Wii U. This alternative is listed as compatible with Wii U (and Switch): UGREEN Ethernet Adapter, USB Network Adapter ,USB 2.0 to RJ45 Lan Adapter,Support Nintendo Switch, Wii, Wii U, for Macbook, Chromebook,Windows 10, 8.1,Mac OS X 10.11,Surface Pro,Linux Black. I guess the Wii U doesn't have drivers for the newer chipset, whereas the Switch is backwards-compatible with older adapters.

Works flawlessly with Firestick 4k
I bought this after reading other reviews about the performance with the Firestick 4k. My firestick was connected to my router via WiFi (5g connection) and streaming was, by and large, usually fine. Occasionally we'd have the odd buffering issue, but watching content from Prime, Youtube, Netflix etc was pretty much fine. The massive issue that I had though was streaming content from my NAS drive (WD My Cloud Home) which is connected to my router via ethernet. Trying to play anything 4k from it was HORRENDOUS. Videos would start and play, and a few minutes in, you'd get the 'spinning wheel of doom' where it would buffer. Now I like my videos to be super-high quality - most of my 4k videos are 30, 40, even 50gb in size. I guess that the amount of bandwidth that the wireless module on the firestick can handle is not sufficient to cope with such a massive amount of data that I was asking for it to. So after doing a lot of digging and research, opted for this particular make and model, as it's one of the few gigabit ethernet adapters out there that is compatible with the firestick - and let me tell you, it has worked wonders! When I load up a 50gb video file from my NAS drive now, it starts playing INSTANTLY with zero buffering. Want to skip ahead 10 minutes? If I did that when I was on WiFi, I may as well have gone and put the kettle on for a brew because it'd take a good 2 minutes to catch up (buffering... buffering...) - now when I skip, there's zero delay.Yes, you do need to buy at OTG power cable, but they're only a couple of quid. All in all, I couldn't be happier with my purchase!
