Frontline for dogs
Bought for my elderly parents to support them.“We have two Shih Tzu crosses and despite using frontline, they’re always scratching themselves. In the past, it’s been quite effective but this time I don’t know maybe the Formular has been changed? We did notice that the pipettes are much harder to open and use, as they take a lot of effort to squeeze out the Formular on to the dogs. What makes us keep using this product? Is that the price at the moment is very very competitive.”I helped apply the Formular and even I had trouble getting the pipettes to dispense the liquid on to the dogs necks. Not as effective or as easy to apply on your own, you need two people really.

Market leader has not kept up with the changing types of fleas
This year has been bad for fleas and mites and so I decided to use Frontline spot on instead of the collars that I’d used in previous years. After about 3 weeks I had to take the dog to the vet because of the dog constantly scratching and my wife suffering from bites, This was despite bathing the dog using shampoo that stopped fleas and mites. The vet told me that Frontline has become less effective in recent years and so we opted for a prescription only product that kills fleas and mites quickly. All is now well ( dog is on mild steroids to help whilst skin returns to normal) but I would caution against this product that is not nearly as effective as you would think.
