I have thick-ish wavy hair, Oily scalp with some dandruff & seborrheic dermatitis around the base of my head. This shampoo helps the itch from the dermatitis initially, but does not make it go away altogether. It makes my hair feel clean but too soft (so it ends up being flat). Does not help with the oily scalp. Lathers ok, smells good, and yes, the bottle is terrible so it's easier to either pour it into your hand or just swap out the bottle. All in all, it's a nice shampoo but since it doesn't help my oily scalp, makes my hair too flat & doesn't get rid of the dermatitis itch I have to keep searching (and I have tried A LOT of shampoos!)

I love this shampoo. It worked after only using a few times. When you leave it on for several minutes as suggested there’s a wonderful cool feeling which is really soothing. I highly recommend this product.

I love this conditioner but, boy is the new bottle a no-go. I’ve been using it for 3-4 years and used to buy it at Whole Foods. After they changed to the terribly inflexible bottle, I tried a few other conditioners and shampoos, but I’m coming back to the Derma-E.This is great for an itchy scalp. I have some kind of scalp acne that the standard dandruff conditioner doesn’t fix. I settled on this, but stopped using it because I have either RSI or arthritis in my thumb and the new hard unsqueezable bottle causes thumb pain when I try to squeeze product out.I’d already had to modify my use of this very thick conditioner (before the bottle design got ruined) by storing it upside down — to avoid having to thrash it around to get the product to the dispenser. But that caused mold in the cap from standing water, so now I use packing tape to make the cap water-tight so I can store it upside down.I realized that all of these machinations to get a conditioner to come out of its container were driving me a bit batty. New solution: I’ve ordered a Nalgene LDPE bottle with dispenser cap so that I can decant the conditioner into a usable bottle. I can’t believe I’m going through all of that for a conditioner, but here we are.I wish Derma-E would listen to the customer comments and fix the bottle. But until then, I’ll be doing my weird workaround to be able to use the product. It would be five stars if I could reliably and painlessly use it as it comes.On top of all this, when I ordered a new bottle this week, it was placed in the box WITHOUT A CAP. It wasn’t broken off or somehow unscrewed in the box. It was fully without a cap. I used to not add shipping problems to reviews because those aren’t about the product, but when Amazon is selling and packaging the product, they need to do better to earn the stars. They’re replacing the bottle, but what a wasteful experience.

This shampoo is incredible! From the first wash, my hair felt cleaner, softer, and noticeably healthier. It lathers well, has a pleasant scent, and rinses out easily without leaving any residue. Update: I've been using this product for almost 6 weeks and I am so blessed to be able to have this product! The crusts on my scalp and flakes have continued to reduce and are barely there at all! This has given me a way to treat my dandruff daily with a moisturizing curl-safe product while also cutting down on shampoo. So pleased! Also the method of storing upside down and removing the cap to dispense has been so easy and works just fine.Original review: I have a severe form of dandruff called seborrheic dermatitis. Due to having very dry, curly hair I quit shampooing my hair regularly and use this conditioner instead. It's helping my seborrheic dermatitis a lot, it took a while but after two and a half weeks my flakes are hugely reduced and the crust on my scalp is almost totally gone. The bottle is slightly squeezable however the product is so thick it's hard to squeeze out as others have said. I store it upside down which is easy to do due to the shape of the bottle, and when I use it I simply unscrew the cap and squeeze some into my hand. It's very easy to do this way and I don't have to cut the bottle open or anything, which I was afraid I'd have to do. It's hard to find dandruff conditioners, especially ones that comply with Curly Girl Method like this one does, so I'm very grateful for it and have always thought derma e makes great products. Just glad it's way easier to use than I anticipated from the reviews.

I've been using this for about six months now. I don't have eczema or any major scalp issues, but since being in perimenopause I have a very itchy dry scalp sometimes and was looking for something more natural to help with that. This shampoo and condition combo work great for me. I love the scent, they leave my hair clean, fun and looking great. I had to knock a star off however because the bottles are absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to squeeze product out of. I don't know what kind of thick, not pliable plastic they are using on these, but I am an in shape person with no arthritic or grip issues and I can even get product out of these without unscrewing the top and just pouring it out. Because it's free of all the icky ingredients and works good for me I continue to buy it despite the bottle issue, but it's a definite problem they should address.
