Vintage, Meet Modern Sleek
One of my favorite recent purchases. I've only recently gotten into the mid-century suburban home aesthetic, and it's products like this one that carried me over the fandom finish line. I've had records (and cassette tapes, and CDs) all my life, but it's been awhile since I've plucked out the vinyl from the closet. Now, I've consolidated my old collection with some newbies from the re-emerging record trend, and this player is the perfect product for the job. Unsurprisingly the audio quality is fantastic (it's Victrola, after all). Its size is perfect for my office -- large enough for display purposes, small enough for functionality of use within the space. The color options are really cool too. I was partial to several (somewhat hard to pick) but ultimately pulled the trigger on this one.

Worth the money
This record player is good quality. Easy to operate. Light weight. The volume could be a bit louder but it’s enjoyable. I do like that it’s Bluetooth too & can also play other music like from your phone.

Pretty good for the price, but probably needs external amp/speakers
Ok, this is actually a pretty decent little unit for the money. I was seriously contemplating returning it because it sounded like it was skipping A LOT and/or the audio was cutting out (especially on quiet passages). I read through the reviews and saw that many people were complaining about the same thing, and when they contacted the company they were told that they should tape a light weight on top of the needle arm, like a penny (this was a common trick back when I was younger - 60's-70's when you didn't have an adjustment to increase the needle pressure). Many people said that it didn't work though. I have a professional audio background, and I felt like what I was hearing was maybe a cheap electronic circuit that was made to keep the small internal speakers from being overloaded and blowing them out - some kind of a dynamics controller like a compressor/limiter/gate device. So today I hooked up the external outputs on the back of the turntable enclosure to our entertainment system and it's speakers, and just turned down the volume knob on the turntable itself. WOW!! It works great now!!! I played about 6 or 7 albums - No skipping or volume dipping (except on the beginning of one of my old mid 70's records that was a little warped and I could actually see some gunk on it) and it sounds quite good (especially for what it is). So that's the deal - some sort of wonky electronics between the turntable and it's internal speakers. Not really very listenable without some external speaker system, but pretty decent otherwise. First time in decades that I've heard some of these albums on a turntable. I'll be keeping it.

A pretty face and a great prop, but you can probably do better.
Full disclosure: I bought this as a "new other" Amazon Warehouse deal to use as a photo prop. For my intended use, it worked perfectly and I got some great shots. However, I do not use it to play music. Review is largely on build quality. This is a handsome unit that isn't as over-the top or gauche as others within the price range, and it builds off of the classic Crosley styling with a name that has some specific brand cachet attached to it. Still, I would hesitate to play any records on it that I am seriously attached to or that hold sentimental value to me, due to the questionable arm weight (non-adjustable) and lackluster needle (higher quality replacements are available online). This unit isn't the most practical, and it doesn't always make the most sense in practice. It needs to be plugged in in order to function, but it is billed as a portable unit with built in speakers. So you're getting lightweight, portable build quality and small built-in speakers, but you also have to plug it in to use it. That contradiction leads to some head-scratching. Still, it looks quite handsome in the process of making you question your buying decisions. As my unit was an Amazon Warehouse deal, I can't comment directly on the build quality and packaging as I received it. However, while owning and transporting the unit for photoshoots (always carried gently and never jostled around) I noticed that the clip that holds the tone arm in place ended up breaking at some point, leading the tone arm to flop around inside the unit while closed up. I was able to fix this with a hair tie, but it's something to keep in mind.At the end of the day, if you are looking to play a record you picked up at the local thrift shop, or you need something for the person in your life who is picked "vinyl" as their hyperfixation of the week (I say this wholly without judgement), this unit is an easy and cheap way to get them started--though they will want to look into upgrading as soon as they are willing to commit to the hobby. If you're looking for a good turntable for listening and enjoying vinyl, or looking to start a collection, another model from a more enthusiast-oriented value brand like Audio Technica would suit your needs better.
