Absolutely brilliant - it was easy to set up and has enhance the availability of super clear non interference full fibre Broadband usage - it is much faster to upload too. Well worth the purchase and highly recommend

This is the easiest extender to set up that I have ever had. Literally within 10 minutes of opening the box it was up and running, providing strong signals where I needed them. An excellent product.

It's easy to set up however it doesn't amplify Mbps as much as I would have hoped but it does improve signal strength. Depending on use this is most important bit.I positioned mine one floor above router, one room along and I connect to the extension from a room further along. I can connect to the router from that room but my wifi signal was -70 or worse. What's the difference? Well bandwidth is no faster going through the extender in fact it is actually slower routing through the extender than connecting to the main hub BUT wifi signal is much stronger. For my use that's the most important bit connecting VOIP over Skype etc. I may not be getting more bandwidth (less in fact) bit I still get enough, however the stronger signal is making voice quality when WFH is much better.If you are wanting fast bandwidth this might not be for you, if you want crisper signal / reception then this will work well.As for devices switching router > extender > router as I walk around the house this does seem to work well for mobiles but my laptop does need a manual disconnect and reconnect, might be that it is better holding a weaker signal.Worth the money? Probably. Still expensive though IYAM.

Very impressed with this bit of kit. It has boosted a very poor caravan site WiFi signal to one that is at least useable. The limitations are only due to the poor signal from the site WiFi. Recommended.

UPDATED REVIEW AT 6 MONTHS OLD - worth reading if you're considering buying this item!We replaced our mains powered 4G LTE router - which had expired - and we're loving our replacement (a D Link 953).We even, now, have 2 4G routers - a battery powered mobile Huawei E5577 (awesome bit of kit!) and a main powered one.The Net Gear extender worked really well with our previous main powered Huawei B525 4G router and it works well with our Huawei mobile 4G router.However, it will not work with our D Link 4G router.I can set it up to extend, but then lose all control - you can't acess the portal once the set up is complete. My computers can all connect to it, as can our really old smart phones, but out newest smart phones won't connect.So i got in touch with Net Gear support, and the message below is copied and pasted - the short answer is, you can't Net Gear extenders with 4G routers. So avoid this extender - either they are correct (they're not) or there is an issue - either way, you're on your own, so avoid this product at all costs and try something else.Apparently my extender is maflunctioning because of my router as it can't connect to 4G routers...................which other LTE routers can connect to............and which this particular extender connected to other in the past...............This is a direct quote from a conversation I'm currently having with NetGeat technical support:"NETGEAR Support - 2020-08-31 23:26:49Hello xxxxx, Thank you for your response. The issue you are facing is because of the router you have. Extender is not compatible with any 4G LTE router and that is the only reason why it is malfunctioning. The Nighthawk X4S extender is expensive for a Wi-Fi repeater, but it delivers excellent performance. Those distinctions are both down to its tri-band design, which uses not one but two 5GHz radios, along with a 2.4GHz one for older devices. That translates to a big bandwidth boost over the majority of cheaper extenders, which make do with a single 5GHz radio. Physically, the Nighthawk X4S is a chunky unit and it only supports Wi-Fi 5, rather than super-fast Wi-Fi 6. It has little in the way of advanced features, either. For what it is, though, the Netgear Nighthawk X4S is a terrific piece of kit. It delivers excellent Wi-Fi performance while being cheaper and easier to install than a full-blown mesh system.

Decided to replace a slower but very reliable BT extender with something better. Chose the Netgear because of tech reviews that spoke of its speed and ease of setting up. Connecting to a Virgin media 2.5/5g router.The following does NOT work:WPS setupMoving it to another location after setupYou have to go through a manual setup every time you want to try a location. Manual setup is very slow and does not always succeed. It is very location sensitive, losing stability with the slightest obstacle. I got it working in a location near the router, moved it and have not got it going since, even though I have put it where the old BT extender was. I have moved it back to a location about 6m from the router where it seems happier, but that is not an impressive distance to have gained.I changed my router from automatically selecting the best channel to a fixed channel for both 2.4 and 5ghz. The Ex7500 does not seem to cope with auto setting at all well. Since then I have had better stability and when it works the speed is fine even though the strength is little disappointing. Netgear's own Wifi Analytics App is an excellent free tool for diagnosing the best channel to use.Finally, it has 5 blue LEDs permanently on if/when working, so think of it as a nightlight and extender combined. You don't seem to be able to disable the lights.
