Like many retinol products out there it causes drying the first few times you use it. I’ve used two other retinol products (that were prescribed by doctors for my terrible acne at the time) and the burning and dryness was ten times worse with those products than it was with this one! This one is wayyy less aggressive which I appreciate a ton! It also has a nice smell and goes on super smooth. I’ve been using honest now for 6 years and I have yet to be disappointed. Yes it causes some burning but after that first week it goes away. It’s retinol it’s going to dry or burn a little..moisturizing is the key and not letting that be the reason you say you don’t like the product. It’s been two weeks since using and my skin tone has evened out tremendously. It’s also brightened my skin tone! I just turned 30 so wanted to start using something that would help my skin with aging and I’m super happy with this one! I’m also a nurse and don’t want to put makeup on and wear a mask over my face for 12+ hours so being able to not wear any makeup and feel confident in my skin is always a win. The drying phase is over and now it’s just the great results shining through.

Love the product. Love the brand. Hate the packaging... it's so wasteful!Look at how much plastic is used for such a small amount of product. Would be nice to know if any of it was recyclable.The serum itself dries quickly and is not greasy. I wouldn't call it "moisturizing," but it 's light and refreshing and seems to do its job.

There is a slight fragrance BUT it doesn’t burn the skin. Soaks in nicely. I’ll buy again!

This was the first Honest Beauty product I tried. I was very happy with the product quality and effectiveness. When I used once a day, at night, it never dried out my skin. Mostly, I bought this product because of its ingredients list. So many, many ,many facial products contains well known harmful substances and other questionable ingredients that when researched its said to steer clear. Honest Beauty doesn't make their products with those scary ingredients.Honest Beauty Retinol serum can be trusted and it works wonderfully! I seen results and an overall balanced brighter,, smooth face and neck. But always be careful for those who have never used a Retinol product. Start slowly only using a few times a week. But Honest Retinol is a must have in every skin care regime!!

This is a very gentle retinol . I have sensitive skin so this is perfect. No irritation. I only use 2 to 3 times a week. I mix it with the vitamin C serum… they go well together and the price is great ! I can afford these clean products that work!!

I enjoy the coolness and moisture of this Honest moisturizer. I use it with other Honest products that leave my face looking like a perfectly glazed donut before bedtime. It's lightweight, and a little bit goes a long way.

Please do not purchase. I have used other retinol products but I was looking for a new product to try. This product burned my face! During the night, I noticed my face was itching like crazy. The next day when I woke up, my skin was red and my eyes even got swollen. Days after my skin started peeling. Not worth it! Find another product.
