Deni 15400 Electric Popcorn Maker, 3 Quart

I was hesitant when I saw the other reviews, but so far I love it! I like that it's small, can make small batches and cleans up easy. My 3 year old loves helping me make popcorn and watching through the lid. We just toss the dome lid over when it's done, sprinkle some salt and pour it in a bowl. Then off to the the dishwasher and all clean. I do not use the butter attachment on top, just a simple recipe of coconut oil and popcorn and salt. I've had for about 3 months, we've probably used 10 times, so I can't report too much on durability, but so far, so good. I'll update again, if anything happens.Update - same problem as others have reported, the heating element stops - so disappointing, it was perfect, small, easy to store away - but if it stops popping corn, then it's useless.

Original 4 star rating (UPDATE below) : This unit works very well popping 1/3 a cup of kernels in 3 minutes using 1 tablespoon of oil as per the instructions. It is small and easily stored, makes plenty of corn, and is easy to clean. Two improvements would be that the butter cup stay on when butter is melted (no butter and it stays on) and the smell of the non-stick surface fade faster. Good popper.UPDATE to 2 stars : This unit was purchased in late October 2010. It is now late February 2011. It still rotates but there is no heat = no popcorn. If I pay return shipping I'll get a partial refund so in the trash it will go along with my original review.Stay away from this machine.

It's the size I wanted but there are just a few problems. First of all it takes longer for the corns to pop. Also, once it starts getting hot it gets to hot and it burns to many corns. I bought this in May 2013 and used it only twice since and it just broke, and the maker is gone out of business. Luckily I had bought it from Amazon and Amazon let me return it with full refund.

i am sure this is a very good product but i did not know that united states uses110 volts and united kingdom uses 230/250 volts.glad i was unable to plug it in ( wrong plug )the postage cost to return this item is £29-70 so i guess it will go in the bin

Meh. It is smaller than a normal bubble popper (was expected) but it did not even last a year and a half, while only using it a couple times a month. It worked great when it did work.

Broke within a year but while it lasted the popcorn maker did a good job.

I bought this so my teenagers could experience how their parents made popcorn back in the day before the microwave became king. Now my 13 yr old likes this popcorn better that the microwave stuff. Cheaper and better for you, this is the way to enjoy popcorn! If your kids get a kick out of jiffy pop this is even better because they can see the kernels when they pop! The Deni is a nice size that won't take up too much space in your kitchen cupboard. Don't hesitate to buy, you won't be disappointed!

when i recieve the popcorn maker the top was broken. i am very upset cause it was a birthday gift.
